POTENTIAL DISRUPTIONS ALONG LOCAL ROUTES FROM MID-NOVEMBER TO EARLY DECEMBER AS BLADE DELIVERIES COMMENCE
-
Slow moving convoy may cause delays along routes towards Eriff from both King George V Port and Port of Ayr (incl A77 & A713)
-
Transport to take place at night to minimise disruption. No road closures or diversions expected but adding time to journey is advised.
-
Local parking restrictions in place on Carphairn Road, Dalmellington.
Turbine component deliveries commenced w.c 11th November, taking place overnight three days per week for an estimated 5 weeks. Convoys will travel South from King George V Port in Glasgow (see map), with night-time deliveries intended to minimise disruption as much as possible. (Delivery time may vary, but potentially leaving KGV at 9pm, arriving at site around 1am.)
Parking restrictions are in place on Carsphairn Road in Dalmellington on the nights of these deliveries. Those affected have been informed via letter from our transport contractor, McFadyens, and cones are in place. Any locals requiring further information should contact constructionenquiries@redrockrenewables.com.
- The slow-moving convoy, including three long heavy load vehicles as well as support vehicles and a police escort, will travel between 20-40mph.
- Due to limited opportunities to overtake safely, delays along the route are possible however the convoy will stop to allow Southbound vehicles pass where safe to do so.
- Northbound traffic on the A713 may be temporarily stopped along the route where necessary.
- Adding extra time to journeys in both directions is advised.
Red Rock Renewables apologises for any inconvenience this may cause road users, and thanks them in advance for their patience. Please send any questions to constructionenquiries@redrockrenewables.com or via Community Councils.
