Red Rock Renewables is proud to announce Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) as its new Charity of the Year, beginning a yearlong partnership to support children with life-shortening conditions and their families across Scotland.
CHAS was selected following a company-wide employee vote, with colleagues choosing the charity from a shortlist of organisations nominated by employees.
The partnership will run until Summer 2027 and will see the Red Rock team take part in a number of fundraising challenges and activities to raise vital funds for CHAS, alongside opportunities to learn more about the charity and its work.
CHAS is Scotland’s national children’s hospice service, providing unwavering care for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions, and support for their whole family. Through its hospices, Rachel House in Kinross and Robin House in Balloch, and its CHAS at Home service, the charity helps families across Scotland make the most of every moment together.
CHAS is also leading its ambitious More Than a Hospice Appeal, which will transform hospice care for children and families across Scotland. The appeal will help create welcoming, accessible spaces where families can receive expert care, make precious memories together and access support when they need it most, ensuring hospice care can meet the needs of future generations.
The new partnership builds on Red Rock’s commitment to supporting local communities and reflects the company’s values of care, integrity and passion.
Neil McAllister, Chief Administrative Officer at Red Rock Renewables, said: “We’re incredibly pleased to welcome CHAS as our new Chairty of the Year and to support the vital work it does for children across the country.
“It was particularly important to us that our employees had a say in which organisation we supported, and the strength of support for CHAS was clear.
“Our Charity of the Year partnership is about much more than fundraising. It gives our team the opportunity to come together behind a shared cause and learn more about the communities and organisations around us. We’re looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together.”
Employees across the business are already preparing for the first fundraising activities of the partnership, including a team taking part in the Edinburgh Kiltwalk and the inaugural Great Red Rock Bake Off, with further events planned for later in the year.
The partnership follows a successful year supporting Alzheimer Scotland, during which Red Rock raised more than £4,000.
Sarah Dannfald, Senior Community Fundraiser at CHAS said: “We are absolutely delighted that Red Rock Renewables has chosen CHAS as its Charity of the Year. Partnerships like this play a vital role in helping us continue to provide unwavering care to children with life-shortening conditions and their families across Scotland.
“We are incredibly excited to work alongside Red Rock’s employees over the coming year and see the creativity, enthusiasm and commitment they bring to supporting CHAS. Every pound raised will make a difference to families who rely on our services.
“This partnership comes at a particularly important time as we work towards our ambition of transforming children’s hospice care through our More Than a Hospice Appeal. Support from organisations such as Red Rock helps us move closer to creating the facilities and services that families across Scotland need today and in the future. We look forward to achieving great things together.”
